*Science, social studies, and study skills/ service learning will rotate classes on a bi-weekly basis.

Learning Plans:

At the beginning of each week students will be provided a learning plan to keep in their binder. This is to keep track of homework and behavior. It needs to be signed by a parent or guardian each week and turned in to their Language Arts Teacher on Friday. An example is attached to the back of this document.

Citizenship:

Students will be graded on citizenship based on attendance for their Language Arts class. They will also be graded for behavior and participation for each class. A citizen rubric is attached to the back of this document.

Grading:

We will be grading on a letter-based scale as follows below. Students will be held accountable for turning in any late work or missing work before the end of each term. Extra credit is given based on teacher’s discretion.

If Absent:

Students are responsible for asking teachers for assignments they missed and will be given 3 days for every day they were absent. Students will be docked after this time has been allotted.

Late Work:

All late work will be docked based on teacher’s discretion.

Redoing Assignments:

Students will be given opportunities to redo assignments for full credit with teacher permission.

Homework:

Literacy:

· Students will be required to read at home each night. Check teacher website.

· Students will be given spelling lists that they will be tested on each week.

Math:

· All unfinished work must be completed at home.

· Teachers may assign additional homework as needed.

Management:

Ticket System:

· Students can earn raffle tickets for good behavior throughout the year.

· Tickets will be entered into a raffle the last Friday each month starting in September.

· Any donations for the raffle are greatly appreciated. Only new items will accepted for the raffle.

Fun Friday:

· Each week we will be holding a fun Friday as a reward for good behavior and turning in work. This will start the last week of September.

· All students will be given a punch card at the beginning of each week to track behavior, located on their learning plan.

· If they use all of their punches, they will not be attending fun Friday.

· Students also need to have no missing assignments to attended fun Friday.
